128 trees planted in Żebbuġ in time for summer
The town of Ħaż-Żebbuġ has planted no less than 128 urban trees in the locality, as part of a ‘Sponsor a Tree’ campaign. Steve Zammit Lupi, an independent Żebbuġ local councillor shared the update, thanking everyone who participated in the campaign.
“Our ‘Sponsor a Tree’ campaign for the 2020 planting season is finally complete!” he shared.
According to Steve, just six months ago, 97 donors raised a whopping €4,300 to sponsor the 128 trees.
Every tree pit for the 128 trees was constructed and every tree was planted, right in time for summer.
“I would like to thank all those who made this community project a reality; our residents, sponsors, volunteers and workers. As we enter the month of May, we can now focus on watering the trees and their care,” he said.
