September storm has finally landed

Have you ever heard that there are, on average, 300 sunny days per year in Malta?

It definitely feels as though all 300 of them occurred this summer alone. It’s been a long, hot season but it seems as though the heat is finally waving its white flag, ready to surrender.

Last night, the island finally got its first taste of rain in months, with the temperature actually dropping significantly below the 30 degree Celsius mark, for the first time in what feels like years.

By sunset, the rainfall was trying to make a point, as it got a little more aggressive. As occurs at the start of almost every Autumn season, storm chasers gleefully caught scenic shots of lightning strikes all over the island.
