Gozitan athlete Michelle Dimech finished the Athens Authentic 10k Marathon in the second place with an impressive time of 35 minutes 55 seconds among 1500 participants. The race was held at the Panathenaic Stadium in the Athens.

The athlete took to social media to express her excitement:
“This morning I had to pinch myself to see if what happened yesterday was a dream… and realised it wasn’t a dream at all but it’s real!”

This was Dimech’s first experience racing abroad and was accompanied by another three Gozitan athletes Miriam Camilleri, Joseph Meilaq and Frank Attard.
