The mentorship programme aimed for young singer-songwriters, ‘Songcraft’, will resume its annual tradition for the third year in a row. Supported by Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and Spazju Kreattiv, the show will feature six up-and-coming artists aged 16-20 with the aim to showcase their own music under the guidance of some established singer-songwriters. This year, as per last year, Bettina Muchmore (singer-songwriter and one half of ‘The New Victorians’), Alex Alden (singer-songwriter who has toured in various countries around Europe and was also a judge on X-Factor for the first two seasons) and Matthew James (singer-songwriter who was the former lead singer for ‘Red Electrick’ and current music producer for X-Factor) will be mentoring these six artists, hoping to elevate the student’s artistry to a more professional level for a well-rounded performance in April.

The participants will be surrounded by youth workers from Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and Spazju Kreattiv’s communications team to not only follow their progress but also be a catalyst in their progression as an artist. While all the participants are very young artists, some have already made a name for themselves in Malta’s music scene.

Former JESC participant Eliana Gomez Blanco will be taking part in this year’s edition, while other artists such as X-factor and Muzika Muzika contestant Miguel Bonello, and Malta’s Got Talent finalist Emma Cutajar are also lined up to give the audience an impeccable performance. Lexi De Martino has participated in Sanremo junior and Hannah Angelone is the lead vocals of the band ‘Lighthouse’. Angela Bonett is the freshest face out of the six participants, making her one of the ones to look out for.
