Eurovision odds shift once again!

With just a few days left for the biggest music event of the year to commence, excitement is undoubtedly kicking in. Rehearsals are giving Eurovision enthusiasts an indication of who is in it to win it, and who is merely fighting for a spot in the finals.

Malta is scheduled to perform in Thursday’s semi-final, alongside some fan-favourites and speculated front-runners of this year’s competition. Finland will be opening the show while the Czech Republic is set to close the show with their banger ‘Lights Off’. Fan favourite and Sweden representative Cornelia Jakobs will be performing right before the closing entry in position number 17 with her song ‘Hold Me Closer’.

As rehearsals are in full swing, odds are ever-changing, shifting according to the bookmaker’s predictions, the bets being placed, the press’ impression, and the countries’ on-stage performance. As of Monday 9 May 2022, a couple of days before the live semi-final night and two days before Emma’s jury show, Malta is currently predicted to finish in 11th place, with just a few decimals away from qualifying. The qualifying chance is tied with Azerbaijan, slowly catching up to the 9th spot, currently taken by Cyprus.

Current Odds

Eventually, this will all come down to the live showing. Huge surprises have shocked fans each and every year, with shock qualifiers squeezing through, kicking to the curb the once locked-in finalists.

We will just have to wait and see.

Good luck Emma and the rest of the Maltese delegation!
