ITS Launches its Prospectus for the Upcoming Academic Year

The Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) has launched its prospectus for the academic year 2022-2023

The Institute of Tourism Studies invited ITS alumni and students to share their experiences while studying at ITS and talk about their careers in the tourism and hospitality industry. The launch was presented by Diploma in Food Preparation & Production Operations student, Mariah Ruggier, who is currently studying at ITS and following the one-year internship as required for the study programme.

ITS CEO, Mr Pierre Fenech stated that “ITS offers a broad selection of study programmes, ranging from Foundation level to Masters Degree level. Therefore, whether students have passed from their O levels, A levels or even have no qualifications, they are sure to find a course ideal for them which will provide the necessary knowledge and hands-on skills. We pride in having high-skilled students who are praised by both the local and international industry. In fact, students have a track record of finding a job while studying and most are working at management level by their graduation.”

ITS offers various programmes in streams that include Culinary Arts, Rooms Division, Events, Climate Friendly Travel, Sommellerie, International Hospitality Management, Diving Safety Management, Tourist Guiding, Travel & Tourism, Heritage Interpretation, MBA and Food & Beverage Service, thus, covering the necessities of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

ITS Chairman Carlo Micallef said that “prospective students who are still unsure of their next step should be open to a career within the hospitality and tourism industry, an industry which is so diverse and ever changing. It is also common for workers within the industry to change departments within their place of work, and therefore being exposed to various experiences and knowledge which makes it even more interesting and rewarding as a career.”

“The ITS represents the present and future of Malta’s tourism industry. The Government is committed to including education as a main pillar in its mission of making Malta a hub of tourism excellence in the Mediterranean and beyond. To achieve this ambitious goal, we must continue investing and creating more opportunities for all those who aspire to work and pursue a career in the tourism world,” outlined Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo.

Applications for programmes are now open and will close on 8 August 2022.
