TONIGHT: Malta Women U19 to Participate in Euro Qualifiers Warm-Up Against Bulgaria

For their warm-upmatch against Bulgaria, Frank Schembri, the coach of the Malta U-19 women’s national team, has selected a roster of 20 players. Tonight, Malta will go head to head against Bulgaria at Tony Bezzina Stadium. Kick off is expected to start at 7:30pm. The U-19 team will use this international game as practice before they begin their historic League A responsibilities in October’s European qualification matches.

This competition will be held in Portugal from October 4 to October 11. After collecting seven points in Round 2 of the previous competition, the Maltese team is coming off of an amazing season. However, Group A7 will be a tough test for the Maltese starlets as they will face off against Euro runners-up Norway, Belgium, and Portugal.

Opposingly, Bulgaria is coming off a good European qualification campaign, having won League B before battling it out in League A against the best teams in Europe. They managed to hold Ukraine to a 0-0 stalemate in a group that also included the eventual champions Norway and Austria, securing promotion to League A. Bulgaria will compete in League B this season against Kosovo and Gibraltar.

We wish luck to the Maltese U19 for tonight’s warm-up match.
