Celebrating Malta Society of Arts' 100 years at Palazzo de La Salle

Malta’s finest musicians will be joining forces to celebrate the Malta Society of Arts’ 100 years at Palazzo de La Salle with a series of monthly concerts and masterclasses. Compositions from the MSA’s music archive and music by past composers affiliated with the MSA will be brought to life by Malta’s foremost musicians including Dominic GaleaCharlene FarrugiaPhilip AttardJoseph Camilleri il-BibiGabi SultanaCarlo MuscatClaire Ghigo and KorMalta.
 
The idea for this monthly appointment came to light with the discovery of Carmelo Pace’s original handwritten manuscript “Conversazioni – Two movements for piano quartet” while researching the Malta Society of Arts’ [MSA] Archive last Summer. This work will be the centerpiece of the first concert taking place on Thursday 12 January at 8pm at the MSA, Palazzo de La Salle in Valletta. 
 
The piano quartet comprising artists Maria Conrad, Violin, Alexander Razera, Viola, Desirée Quintano, Cello and Christine Zerafa, Piano, will be premiering Mariella Cassar-Cordina‘s piano quartet especially commissioned for this concert, as well as Mozart’s G Minor and Mahler’s piano quartets. 
  
The concert series is supported by Arts Council Malta under the Programme Support strand.
