More than 208,000 people used buses on Friday, April 21, 2023, setting a record that was surpassed by 4,500 passengers over the previous high set on Friday, October 4, 2019. A total of 5.4 million people took buses in April 2023, keeping the same number as the previous month. This number was significantly higher in April 2022 and April 2019 by 41.4% and 13.0%, respectively. In April 2023, more than 4.2 million people used Tallinja Cards for bus travel, a 31.7% increase from the previous year, and almost 6,000 new Tallinja Card registrations. Discussions with the Authorities have led to measures being launched to increase the frequency of numerous highly travelled routes in response to the passengers’ increasing demand.
