EuroPride is a pan-European international LGBTI event, including but not exclusive to a huge Pride parade, which is hosted by a different European city every year.
The host city is usually one with an established LGBTI Pride event or a strong LGBTI community. We feel it necessary to mention here that Malta has topped the index for the past four years in a row.
EuroPride was first celebrated in London in 1992 and was attended by crowds of around 100,000! Since then, it’s not only grown in numbers, but also in terms of political significance.
In 1997, EuroPride was hosted in Paris and over 300,000 people marched to the Bastille. In 2011, over a million people attended the festivities in Rome.
