Malta extends COVID-19 amber list

Take note! Local health authorities have extended the ‘amber list’ of countries, from which arrivals to the island are required to show a negative COVID-19 PCR test on arrival.

Arrivals from Rome, as well as several regions of Italy have been added to the group of travellers who must present the certificate dated no more than 72 hours before landing.

According to authorities, any one who does not present a negative COVID-19 certificate, may be asked to take a test on arrival or self-quarantine.

The list includes the following countries:

  • Austria

  • Belgium

  • Bulgaria

  • Czech Republic

  • France

  • Germany

  • Hungary

  • Ireland

  • Italy (all airports in Milan and Rome, Bologna, Naples, Perugia, Pescara, Pisa, Trieste, Turin and Venice)

  • Luxembourg

  • The Netherlands

  • Poland

  • Portugal (Porto)

  • Spain

  • Switzerland

  • Tunisia

  • The United Kingdom (Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Nottingham)

The list applies to all airports in the countries on the ‘amber list’, unless otherwise indicated and comes into force at midnight, on Friday 13 November.
