GoTo, Malta’s car-sharing service, is a revolutionary alternative to car hire, which can be activated in just a few simple clicks, in a matter of minutes. 20,000 people did just that!

Launched back in late 2018, the company has been offering sustainable, affordable and convenient travel alternatives to us all, by means of its fleet of shared electric cars and scooters. The multi-modal vehicle sharing provider gained lightning fast popularity in Malta, through its One-Way and Roundtrip services, both of which are accessible via one membership and a user-friendly application.

“We feel proud that we have now managed to reach 20,000 subscribers since our launch in Malta just over two years ago,” said CMO of GoTo Johnny Tominaga. “This latest achievement is testament to the GoTo team’s dedication and determination to constantly improve the service we offer our customers. It encourages us to work even harder towards our future goals,” he added.

The impressive milestone is part of an overall period of growth, which has taken place primarily over the last year at GoTo. As well as expanding its fleet, the vehicle sharing platform also ensured that its full range of services met the apprehension during the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, it aided the wider community through tough times, by supporting local businesses and the hard work of charities such as the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation and the Malta Red Cross, with vehicles from their fleet and manpower.

“Our contribution as a transportation service was also important throughout the COVID-19 crisis. It offered Malta’s commuters a convenient travel option that gave them full control over whether they would drive alone or with other passengers. We made sure that our customers had the extra peace of mind of driving a shared vehicle that was regularly and thoroughly cleaned and followed all government protocols regarding the pandemic,” said the CEO.

Looking ahead, the company is remaining positive about their performance in 2021, as they look to increasing their subscriber numbers even further.
