Fort St Angelo Lends Itself Beautifully as a Vantage Point During the Fireworks Festival

The magnificent Fort St Angelo in Birgu will lend itself beautifully as a vantage point from where one can watch the spectacular display offered by the Malta International Fireworks Festival on Sunday 30 April

Visitors may start their evening with a stroll around the fort, which boasts a history of at least 800 years. All areas of the fort will be available to explore, except Upper Fort St Angelo which is administered by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Wine and light snacks may be purchased on site.

Anyone wishing to attend is required to buy tickets beforehand. Admission prices are €12 for adults, €8 for Heritage Malta members and €5 for children. Tickets are available at any Heritage Malta museum or site, but may also be purchased online here. Doors will be open from 19:30 onwards.

During the long weekend from Saturday 29 April till Monday 1 May, Fort St Angelo will also be hosting the intriguing event Castrum Maris – The Marquisate of Malta, brimming with historical re-enactments portraying life during the reign of King Martin I of Sicily. Peasants, weavers, mattress makers, tailors, cloth dyers, corsairs, blacksmiths, falconers and traders will be among those entertaining visitors. A siege will also be re-enacted at 15:00 each day.

Opening hours will be from 10:00 till 18:00, with last admissions at 17:30. Tickets will only be available at the door. Adults will be admitted at the normal price, while Heritage Malta members and children enter free of charge.
