Over the last few months, we all had to adapt to new norms, new measures and new lifestyles. Like many other hotels and businesses in the tourism industry, once COVID-19 struck Maltese shores, management of the InterContinental Hotel Malta made the decision to shut the doors of the hotel, in order to guarantee the safety of guests and staff members alike.
During this time, management and front-liners have worked together to upgrade the hotel. These included projects ranging from the painting of walls and balconies, eliminating minor damages and other preventative maintenance tasks, to adding brand new bathrooms and refurbishing guest rooms.
On the 26 June 2020, the hotel re-opened its doors, with a safe and rejuvenated hotel. The excitement and preparation for the hotel’s opening was evident on employees’ faces, all of whom were thrilled to welcome and host guests once again. All measures, including IHG’s Clean Promise and Governmental procedures, were put in place, to create a safe and relaxing environment for all guests who visit the InterContinental Malta.

There is a new saying that ‘2020 is over’, however, the hotel’s goal for this year, starting with summer 2020, is for guests to build new, positive memories to write up a new story.
There are several planned activities and events in the pipeline. These include accommodation offers for a night or even two and restaurants offering mouth-watering dishes whilst dining under the stars. Also, days of relaxation by the pools, the sea or even the beach clubs. The latter are fit to host anyone who is looking for a day with family or a relaxing day off to work on their tan. The hotel has plenty to offer to write not one, but several chapters.
If it’s a day laying on a comfortable sun bed, with personnel on hand tending to your every need you’re looking for, InterContinental has got you sorted.
Just let the world pass by at SKYBEACH, with stunning island views of the surrounding areas, the sea and a rooftop infinity pool for company. What’s more, the accompanying bar and restaurant provide refined sophistication, coupled with colourful upscale poolside snacks, served during the day and delicious grilled dishes, served as the sun sets. It’s also the perfect spot for trendy instagrammers!

InterContinental Beach Club is the next top spot, should you wish to dip your toes in warm sand and go for a swim in the Mediterranean water. Here, you can order a refreshing beer or cocktail, alongside a range of snacks and platters to enjoy by the sea.

Narics Pool is the latest outlet to be opened to locals living on the Maltese Islands. It is one of the best spots for families to enjoy a relaxing day by the pool, with ice-cream within arms reach for the kids, drinks for the parents and a space where all can enjoy. To top it all off, a tasty burger or pizza can also be enjoyed at the accompanying restaurant.
