LGBTI+ Gozo launches Queer-friendly directory
LGBTI+ Gozo, the only queer organisation in Gozo, has launched a brand new initiative. To date, 17 Queer friendly professionals, who offer their services in Gozo, have joined forces to form a Queer friendly directory.
From counsellors and spiritual guidance providers to lawyers, the directory will serve as a one-stop-shop to all Gozitans who require any special services on the island.
During its annual Malta Pride event, which was held online this year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the organisation launched the directory and explained how these individuals had worked with LGBTI+ Gozo in the past. They also added how their work ethic and commitment to promoting inclusive approaches in their professional work, was deemed to be a positive resource to share with the Gozitan public.
LGBTI+ Gozo is determined to build and grow this list even further. Though not exhaustive at the moment, any other professional offering services in Gozo, who would like to be added to the directory, can email the organisation on lgbtigozo@gmail.com.
In future, LGBTI+ Gozo will be offering workshops to the general public to ensure that we are all-inclusive and diverse in our work environment. These professionals will further expand on this by adding top-up workshops in order to share good practices, as well as their experiences.

COVID-19 has indeed been a challenge, particularly for those most vulnerable. Therefore, in collaboration with the LGBTI Organisation in Malta, donations and the supply of temporary shelter rooms are being accepted, to ensure that there is hope and assistance for all those who may need it.
