Ride in comfort: Tallinja on demand service re-launched

Malta Public Transport has announced that on-demand trips are finally back! Passengers can, once again, book on-demand trips for journeys between Valletta, Sliema and St. Julians, on the company’s buses.

So, what is the TD plus service exactly?

In a nutshell, passengers can book a seat on one of the premium buses using the Tallinja App, by choosing where and when they would like to be picked up and dropped off. The system will then check when the best ride available and show the passenger their trip details. Essentially, this means that you can book a trip between bus stops, without worrying about whether or not there’s space on the bus.

The TD Plus fleet includes six new premium minibuses, which are low floor and fully wheelchair accessible. Free WiFi is available and the seats are fully equipped with USB charging ports. Each minibus can accommodate up to 16 passengers.

How can i book a trip?

Just download the Tallinja App and tap on the TD Plus icon. Sign up for the new service and book your first trip.

What’s more, the booking process on the Tallinja App has been upgraded further, making it easier for passengers to select their desired points of departure, as well as destination.

The service area has also been increased to include more bus stops in San Ġwann and Swieqi, all the while still serving popular destinations.

To ensure everyone’s safety, the buses are being sanitised and thoroughly cleaned more frequently and the capacity has been reduced to 50%, to allow for more space on board. Passengers are also reminded to wear face masks at all times.

The super TD Plus Service is available from Monday to Sunday, between 5am and midnight and costs just €2 per trip, when booking through the app. Additional passengers pay just €1 per passenger, through a special offer to mark the re-launch of the service.
