Valletta International Baroque Festival returns
to theatre tomorrow
That’s right, folks! The Valletta International Baroque Festival is returning to Manoel Theatre in Valletta tomorrow. The annual festival is one of the largest music festivals in Malta and was founded by artistic director Kenneth Zammit Tabona, back in 2013. This year, the festival will be scaled-down and completely COVID-19 safe. Not to worry though, this year’s full programme has been effectively moved (not cancelled), to 2022.
In the coming days, performances featuring local and international artists will be taking place. These super shows will include renowned artists such as Andrea Buccarella, Marco Mencoboni, Teodoro Bau, Claire Debono, Cantar Londano, Gillian Zammit, the Goldberg and Abchordis Ensembles, the Valletta Baroque Ensemble and the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, to name a few.
This year’s edition, which is the ninth edition of the festival, will kick off tomorrow at 7:30pm, with ‘Musica da Camera del Barocco Napoletano’, by the Abchordis Ensemble and will come to an end on 24 January, 2021.
