Get your eggs, butter and sugar ready, for Pancake Day is here.
Pancake Day is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. This annual celebration is enjoyed by many across the world in the lead up to Easter.
Lent, the 40 days leading up to Easter, is traditionally a time of fasting. Throughout the centuries it’s become tradition for people to eat pancakes to mark the beginning of Lent so as to use up ingredients that they wouldn’t be allowed to eat during the 40-day period, which is how Pancake Day obtained its name.
We’re huge fans of pancakes, so here’s a list of some pancake houses in Malta, to make this feast day extra special.
