The masterclass will also be providing viewers with a brief outline of the content of Professor Cassar’s book itself. The two volumes, published in 2010 and 2019 respectively, are considered to be reference books by students of the history of art, as well as by art enthusiasts. The second volume is a Heritage Malta publication, covering the middle decades of the 20th century and providing a comprehensive overview of the then rapidly changing art scene on the Maltese Islands.

The general transformation that occurred at the time, in terms of the local artistic expression, upset the long-lasting structure , which had also served as a model for Malta’s School of Art.

This important publication may be purchased at a specially reduced price from Heritage Malta’s online shop. Need some more information? Click here.
