Gozitan all-time favourite Mekren’s Bakery to open in Malta
We think it’s safe to assume that very few of is us locals have travelled to the beautiful island of Gozo for the weekend and not made absolutely sure to somehow fit a Mekren pizza (or ten) into our plans.
We hear a faint ‘what’s a Mekren pizza?’ in the background.
Firstly, if you are a local and haven’t heard of Mekren pizza, we’re actually rather shocked and disappointed in you. If, however, you are not Maltese, let us introduce you to arguably one of the best things that Gozo has to offer.
Mekren’s Bakery is a family-run business in Nadur, which specialises in local ftajjar, pizza, qassatat and bread, which many of us choose to pick up on our way to Ramla Bay, right before sunset.
As spotted by FoodBlog, there seems to have been a brand new sign set up in Qormi, signalling the brand’s upcoming launch in Malta. Though this has always been a mere dream for those who reside on the larger island, Mekren’s Bakery have responded.
Not only are they opening an outlet in Qormi, Malta, but works are well underway and the company is planning on opening their outlet this summer!
In case you can’t tell, we’re excited.
