€6,000,000 investment into synthetic turf for football clubs

 No less than 68 football clubs around the Maltese Islands will be benefitting from a €6,000,000 investment into synthetic turf for football grounds and pitches. The investment was announced during a conference by MFA president Bjorn Vassallo, Parliamentary secretary for sport Clifton Grima, Minister for inclusion and social wellbeing Julia Farrugia Portelli and Permanent secretary Matthew Vella.

Matthew Vella expressed how happy he was with the news regarding the investment, stating that the football pitches and sport facilities are home for many players, athletes and all those committed to the community. He added that this is a precious moment for the sport community as Malta’s youth can grow up in an environment, which is safe and provides more opportunities to improve their sporting lifestyle and career.

He added that sport gives order and vision to a person’s life and witnessing such investments reassures him that Malta is indeed investing in a strong society and more holistic education.
