Award-winning play premieres in Malta this week
Produced by Chalk Line Theatre, The Nobodies was written by Amy Guyler and co-directed by Sam Edmunds and Malta’s very own Vikesh Godhwani. The play will premiere on Wednesday 15 September and will run until Sunday 19 September at St. James Cavalier
When a local hospital announces its closure, panic ensues. Healthcare Assistant Rhea is forced to look for work elsewhere. Local lad Aaron worries about his mum’s treatment in the cancer unit. And Curtis just isn’t sure where he’s going to sleep. But when the three witness a horrific accident, a rare opportunity presents itself. As a dangerous decision triggers a wild chain of events, Rhea, Aaron and Curtis find themselves inspiring a cohort of vigilante activists. What does it take to enact real change? What would you sacrifice to keep it?
According to co-director Vikesh Godwani, the play aims to set things into perspective and make people aware  of the day-to-day struggles of people who are marginalised and who do not have what we consider to be the most basic of needs. He adds that it will ultimately make people understand why movements start and how they come out of an urgent need for change in a society that currently just serves the few.
