Since January 2021, award-winning playwright Simone Spiteri and theatre director Toni Attard have been co-creating a brand new theatre production from Opening Doors – Malta’s arts organisation for people with intellectual disabilities.
Is-Siġra tat-Tin is a new inclusive theatre work, which intertwines the artists’ own dreams like the roots of a fig tree that grow all the way down to the forest floor. Through movement and dramatic scenes co-created by the artists in both Maltese and English, the performers will share their own stories and aspirations with the audience.
Is-Siġra tat-Tin will take place on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of October and will be performed by 10 artists from Opening Doors, as well as three guest actors who are well town in Maltese theatre and television. The cast is composed of the talented Cheyenne Aquilina, Caroline Bajada, Angela Bettoni, Sharon Bezzina, Denise Camilleri, Kurt Castillo, Peter Fenech, Benjamin Grech, Sarah Micallef, Jacob Piccinino, Justin Spiteri, Karl Wirth and Mark Zammit Cutajar.
