Valletta ranks as one of the best European city for food lovers
Malta’s beloved capital city, Valletta, has been ranked as the fifth best European city to enjoy a well-priced meal, along with countless options, according to a study by Uswitch earlier this month.
The study took into consideration the cost of a meal when dining out in the city, along with the number of cafes, pubs and restaurants offered, as well as the number of eateries that offer brunch, fast food and vegetarian dishes. Athens in Greece placed first, offering delicious food for an average of €16.62 per meal, and an overall score of 88.47/100. Belgrade in Serbia came in second, with a score of 83.06, owing to its highly rated pubs and Sofia in Bulgaria placed third (79.63), as it is one of the best places for fast food, as well as having a good selection of cafes.
Tirana in Albania placed fourth with a score of 78.76, followed by Valletta, with an average cost of €23.47 per meal and 78.73 points.
The city also placed second in terms of having vegetarian food options, preceded by Belgrade, who ranked first with one-point difference. Valletta’s average rating was 8.84 out of 10 and Belgrade scored an 8.85 average rating.
Finally, Malta ranked fourth as one of the best cities in Europe to have brunch, recording a score of an average of 8.84 on 10.
