Festivals Malta has launched the exciting programme for the 10th edition of the Malta Baroque Festival, which is set to take place in January, 2022.
The festival will feature 26 diverse concerts, celebrating music from the 17th and 18th centuries, spread over 18 different venues, including the Manoel Theatre, the Archeology Museum, San Anton Palace, Verdala Palace and a number of cathedrals and churches across Malta.
Jose Herrera, the minister for the national heritage, arts and local government emphasised the importance of the festival within the cultural sector, as it places Malta on the baroque map on an international level.
“The Valletta Baroque Festival is truly unique because through its prestige, it attracts a specific form of tourism characterised by tourists who are mainly interested in the festival, but end up falling in love with the majesty of the locations and venues where the concerts are held. I’m sure that this edition, an experience that will continue to reinforce the festival’s position as one of the top 10 baroque festivals in Europe,” he said.
