The festive season has launched and to make our days that much brighter, Gozitan group The JoyGivers have released a brand new Christmas song!
Milied Kuljum, which translates to Christmas Everyday, was written by Etienne Micallef and brings together all the Christmas holiday elements we know and love.
The joyful melody of Milied Kuljum takes us back in time, with sounds and instruments that are rarely heard today. It also includes references to the wisdom of our forefathers as it contains some proverbs associated with the past, as well as the mention of popular Maltese Christmas song Ninni la Tibkix Issa.
Also featured in the Christmas jingle are the crib, which represents the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, as well as Baby Jesus, who, according to the author of the song, will stay with us indefinitely if we let him into our hearts.
Micallef said that the Christmas season remains dear to the Maltese as during this time, family traditions, joy, happiness and love are all brought together and these are the exact same feelings evoked when we listen to this song.
He also emphasises that we should put our differences aside not only during Christmas time, but throughout the year.
