The countdown to Christmas is on and it’s time to start planning some magical family Christmas days out. To get you started, we’ve listed a selection of events to do as a family to get everyone in the festive mood!
First up…
Fairyland Santa’s City
Location: Pjazza Tritone, Valletta
The second edition of Fairyland Santa’s City is all set up and on until the 2 January, 2022. The entrance to the capital city was transformed into an original adaptation of Santa’s City and around the Triton Fountain, you’ll find Rudolph’s ferris wheel, an ice rink and you might even catch a glimpse of Santa Claus himself!
The Magic Illuminated Trail: Walk Thru Edition
Location: Verdala Palace, Rabat
The Magical Illuminated Trail is back and this time, it’s a walk-through experience taking place at the enchanting Verdala Palace in Buskett. The magical after-dark adventure for families has a variety of brand new attractions. Children and adults alike can journey through the walkways of one of Malta’s national historic gems as you’ll witness larger-than-life lanterns, illuminated sculptures, projections and much more.
My Little Village: Christmas Edition
Location: Kristu Rxoxt Church, Pembroke
My Little Village: Christmas Edition will be taking place from today until the 29 of December. Tailor-made for children up to seven years old, this Christmas village offers your little ones a warm, unique and stimulating experience, where they can be as imaginative and creative as they like. Role-play areas full of props and costumes for dress-up simulate real-life careers and everyday life.
Christmas Under the Bridge
Location: Labour Road, Mosta
An event for the whole family, Christmas Under the Bridge is jam-packed with activities for children of all ages, all the way up until 30 December. With numerous Christmas stalls, the biggest tree you can imagine, the first-ever Christmas parade with floats and dancers, musical entertainment, sing-along shows, a life-size crib, a Santa Claus House and much more, this event is an exciting one for every member of the family.
Austrian-German Christmas Market
Location: Riviera Hotel & Spa, Marfa
Running till the 26 of December, the Riviera Hotel & Spa is holding its third absolutely authentic Austrian-German Christmas Market, set in the scenic grounds of Marfa Bay. We would definitely recommend you checking it out if you want to try traditional German sausages, chicken on the spit, Kaiserschmarrn (a lightly sweetened fluffy shredded pancake), chocolate chestnuts and beef goulash soup. For those with a sweet-tooth, the highlight of the market will be the apple strudel, Christmas stollen and Christmas cookies!
Christmas at Esplora
Location: Kalkara
During Esplora’s Christmas-themed opening hours, ranging from today till the 6 of January, visitors can explore science and technology through the wonders of Christmas and movies! Experience the brand-new science show Lights, Camera, Action as they delve deeper into the fascinating world of film production. Go on a journey around the globe and explore Earth’s weather and climate, to find the perfect Christmas destination. Also, participate in the 12 Days of Christmas science show and sing-along as the Christmas Carol is given a scientific twist!
