Teatru Manoel has meticulously scheduled four shows for the enjoyment of opera enthusiasts, set to premiere from Thursday 10 March till Sunday 13 March 2022. Teatru Manoel has promised an intimate staging with four distinct nights to commemorate the different stylings of the myriad brilliant opera singers which Malta has to offer. Directed by Caroline Clegg and Ricardo Bianchi with orchestral arrangements of Veronique Vella and Federico Bonoldi.

The British soprano Louise Alder will be making her Teatru Manoel debut while other local based talents such as Luis Aguillar, Albert Buttigieg, Louis Andrew Cassar, Miriam Cauchi, Nico Darmanin, Claire Debono, Graziella Debattista, Nicola Said & Cliff Zammit Stevens will also be featured in four separate nights.

The opera week will kick off with an array of uplifting and sentimental music from the Operetta repertoire. The musical journey will take operagoers from Paris to Vienna with music from Strauss, Lehar, and Offenbach.

The second night will be celebrating the most renown composer of all time, Wolfgang Amedeus Mozart. The third night will exchange musical stylings between Atlantic shores with opera scenes in the English language during the ‘Anglo-American Night’.

Finally, these four mystical events will conclude with ‘Notte Italia!’, commemorating Italian Opera by including music from Italian composers such as Bellini, Cilea, Puccini and others!
