Spring is officially here, which means it’s time to head outdoors, run wild in fresh air and soak up the sun. There’s a lot to discover and plenty of activities to spring into at this time of the year.

We’ve put together a list of outdoor activities to keep you fit and active during your Malta stay. Hop on a ferry to the sister island of Gozo and head out on one of the hiking trails we’ve listed. Gozo never disappoints…. and neither does food, especially local food.

Globe artichokes anyone? Better known as “Qaqoċċ”, this purple flower-like vegetable is rarely found on restaurant menus but is often placed centre stage in a traditional Maltese home-cooked meal. We get a sneak peak into the Cini farm, a spectaculer sight, where there are more than 2,000 plants of this curious looking vegetable.
