Something About You, a 10-year-survey exhibition by Marinella Senatore, curated by Sara Dolfi Agostini, is extended until July 23 at Blitz in Valletta
Multidisciplinary artist Marinella Senatore aims to rethink the political nature by bringing together individuals and collective bodies that are frequently seen as dichotomous entities in capitalist culture. Thus, Senatore has developed a methodology that delves into practices of non-hierarchical learning and participatory art, exploring forms of resistance, vernacular and popular culture, dance, music, and activism. This is where her new exhibition ‘Something About You’ comes in.
A new site-specific sculpture, a potent piece of public art, videos, paintings, sketches, and other mediums are all brought forward in Something about you. The artwork is a charming throwback, bringing to mind the Maltese tradition of using festoons, luminaries, and light installations to celebrate community during village festas and yearly festivities.
