These two spots are located next to each other in the northwest of the island of Malta. Għajn Tuffieħa, a natural sandy beach surrounded by clay mounds and limestone cliffs, is the perfect spot for a romantic picnic as you watch the sun set across the glistening sea.
Located on the right, Golden Bay is the more popular of the two; it’s known for its red sand and naturally formed sand dunes on it surrounding slopes. Being the more popular one means that the beach is overcrowded during most of summer. Nonetheless, firing up a barbecue and watching the sunset with the cool sea breeze, or eating at a nearby eatery (with a view), will make for a pleasurable summer evening.
