This Sunday 31 July, well-known band Versatile Brass will perform a concert in Hamrun in aid of Puttinu Cares
This weekend sees Versatile Brass, a popular and prolific local band which has performed extensively both in Malta and overseas, perform a concert in Hamrun’s St Joseph High Street. The evening features singers including Janvil, Sarah Bonnici, Ozzy and Tiziana Calleja, amongst many others, and takes place as part of the town’s Festa San Gejtanu celebrations.
Versatile Brass is known across Malta as one of the island’s foremost bands, utilising a powerful and comprehensive brass section performing alongside a rhythm section including drums, bass, guitar and keyboards. The band performs a range of genres, such as pop, jazz, Latin, swing, blues, Motown, funk, reggae and rock, as well as collaborating with DJs on various occasions.
The event is in aid of the Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, an NGO founded in 2002 which works to support children suffering from cancer. The organisation is widely known and respected across Malta for its crucial work supporting and advocating on behalf of cancer sufferers and their families, and for promoting and enhancing the provision and standards of care across the country.
This event is held in collaboration with Kunsill Lokali Ħamrun, and is sponsored by 1889 Productions and Soċjeta’ Mużikali San Ġużepp Ħamrun.
