Throughout August and September, Spazju Kreattiv Cinema will present a new production following the story of one woman’s struggle in modern-day France
Spazju Kreattiv is known for its eclectic and inspiring film screenings, providing a vital platform for Malta’s contemporary arts scene and discerning independent film aficionados. This month, the centre will present Her Way, a film set in France telling the story of a woman called Marie, and her harrowing journey to provide financial support for her son’s education.
Showing on Friday 26 August at 7:30pm and starring Laure Calamy (Call my Agent!), the production details Marie’s personal sacrifices and struggles in her venture to ensure her son’s future at an elite private catering school, and the lengths she is willing to go to achieve it.
A selected film at the Glasgow Film Festival and Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, Cécile Ducrocq’s debut feature Her Way takes a bold look at the life of sex workers, and the discrimination and unique challenges they face.
