The final round of this year’s championship will be held on Saturday 27 August at 7.30 pm
Terence Azzopardi has snatched his first Autocross National Championship, with one round to spare after placing 5th in the Final Class A on Saturday 6 August. Terence contested with an Opel Tigra, a new model for the association, which proved to be an instant hit.
The event was won by the current champion Karl Micallef on an Opel Corsa, followed by Justin Buttigieg on an Opel Nova, Jean Paul Grech on a Peugeot 106, Joseph Spiteri on an Opel Corsa. Terence Azzopardi and Geert Grech claimed fifth and sixth place, both on an Opel Tigra.
Final B was won by Dorianne Galea, followed by Theo Micallef, both on a Ford Fiesta. Jerome Peplow claimed third on his Kia Avella, followed by Joseph Micallef on his Opel Corsa. Matthew Borg and Luca Camilleri claimed fifth and sixth place respectively, both on an Opel Nova. The class B championship will be decided on the last day of the Championship with only 5 points separating Dorianne Galea from Nicovich Chircop.
