Malta’s U-16 Water Polo Team is Heading to Gold Platinum Phase
Malta’s water polo squad is already establishing itself as one of the greatest in the competition after making its debut at the Under-16 World Championships earlier last week.
Malta’s national team kept up its impressive play at the World U-16 Championships as they defeated Kazakhstan to win the group. It was a commanding performance by Anthony Farrugia’s youthful players, who outperformed their Kazakh rivals throughout the four sessions played.
The Maltese national team finished first in Group F, which means they are now moving on to the Gold Platinum round after beating not only Kazakhstan with a score of13-3 but also giants of water polo, the United States, by a score of 10-7.
They are expected to face the runner-up team from Group G, which will be either South Africa or Turkey.
By moving on to the next round, the water polo squad is going to be competing for one of the Top 8 placements. Good luck reds!
