Next Friday 9 December at Spazju Kreattiv, Maltese Brighton-based post-punk band ĠENN will debut music from their new 6-track EP, Liminal, as well as other upcoming material. The EP has been championed by DIY Magazine, BBC6 and Radio X, amongst others, and features post-punk songs imbued with psychedelic textures. “Craziness follows us,” laughs lead singer Leona Farrugia, with guitarist Janelle Borg adding: “[ĠENN] could have been a support group, but we decided to make music instead.” ĠENN is comprised of Leona Farrugia (lead vocals), Janelle Borg (guitars/backing vocals), Leanne Zammit (bass/backing vocals) and Sofia Rosa Cooper (drums/backing vocals).

Rebecca Theuma AKA Hearts Beating in Time

ĠENN will be supported by Hearts Beating in Time, a Maltese electronic songwriter and sound designer who cites influences including Four Tet, Niina, Jamie xx and Kraftwerk. Her unique pop songs feature elements infused with 8-bit sounds, arpeggiators, glitchy sequences, vocal melodies and drum loops, offering an original and fresh take on modern electronic music.

ĠENN and Hearts Beating in Time will perform Friday 9 December at Spazju Kreattiv in Valletta. For more information, visit the official website.
