Malta Youth Orchestra to join MPO for Special Carol Concert

On Tuesday 20 December at 7:30pm, the Malta Youth Orchestra will join forces with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra for a carol concert in the auspicious surroundings of St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta.

The concert will feature the St. John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation Children’s Choir directed by Gillian Zammit, organist Hugo Agius Muscat and will be led by British conductor Philp Walsh.

The evening will present a range of works by both Maltese and historic international composers, including Benjamin Britten, Emanuele Galea, Franz Xaver Gruber, Jean Sibelius, Alphonsus Liguori, John Rutter and César Franck, concluding with excerpts from George Frideric Handel’s revered masterwork, Messiah.
