WATCH: Angela Bettoni Hosts ‘Inner Demons’ Manuscript Reading Event
It has been a fruitful year for the 20-year-old dancer, actress, writer, and activist for the inclusivity of individuals with down syndrome, Angela Bettoni. She’s currently studying for a Bachelor of Creative Arts at MCAST, where she launched her project ‘Dance with Me’ earlier this year. With this project, Bettoni shed light on the misconceptions associated with individuals with down syndrome. She has already graduated with a diploma in creative arts and her current bachelor’s degree is aiding in her advocacy to integrate herself into the classroom as a girl with a disability.
Interestingly, it was recently announced that Bettoni would be the first presenter with down syndrome to host her show on national tv. The new programme, Action, is an entertaining docuseries for children who aspire to work in the film and TV industry.
On the third of December, Bettoni released the first ‘Inner Demons’ Manuscript Reading Event in honour of World Disability Day. This project has been in the works for months, in hopes of raising awareness of people with disabilities while recognising their hard-earned accomplishments. The project is in partnership with Arts Council Malta, Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, Clare Azzopardi, and Leanne Ellul.
