Yannick Yankam Scores First International Goal Playing For Malta

Malta lost 2-1 to North Macedonia last night on the first qualifying day of matches of Euro24. Birkirkara F.C. signed player Yannick Yankam was substituted onto the field and scored Malta’s only goal. Yankam looks to have a promising future in Maltese football (and even beyond) as this marks his first international goal.

Malta had tough competition ahead as North Macedonia had defeated them in their last meeting, so looking for a comeback in reigning victory was a priority for the little island’s team. Although unsuccessful in their pursuit, the Maltese team made their country proud as they applied pressure on the competing team and caused a delay in North Macedonia’s scoring.

We look forward in watching Malta take on Italy on its home turf at the Ta’ Qali National Stadium on Sunday 26 which is sure to be a truly fierce and competitive match.
