International Art Exhibit ‘SEGNALATI’ by Salvatore Russo opens at the Parliament

Three days ago, the Parliament announced that it would be opening its door to an international art exhibition called “Segnalati Malta”. The project has arrived in Malta as part of an ongoing series, with previous instalments in Paris, Brussels, New York, Edinburgh, Naples, Berlin, Rome, Lisbon, Venice, Budapest and London.

Held in a different country with each instalment, I Segnalati is a yearly event which assembles a variety of decently renowned international artists. Their work is introduced to the public through an exhibition as well as an art book. Both the annual exhibition and artbook are respectively edited and curated by Salvatore Russo, famed Italian International Art Curator and Critic, along with his art expert brother Francesco Saverio Russo.

This edition features 66 paintings by artists of diverse ages from up to 44 countries, including Sudan, Argentina, Holland, America, Lebanon, and many more. The artists were honoured with an award and a copy of this year’s artbook during the exhibition launch. In a few words, the Speaker commented on the potential for art to convey joy and sadness, which includes criticism for good and immoral things alike.

The exhibit opened to the public three days ago on 6 October at the Parliament of Malta in Valletta. It will remain open until 23 October 2023 from 9 am to 6 pm on weekdays, then from 9 am to 12:30 pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
