Vjaġġ il-Ħrejjef: Upcoming Interactive play about Maltese folk tales

TOI TOI, the Manoel Theatre’s Learning and Participation Programme, is bringing young audiences an exciting new Maltese play. Vjaġġ il-Ħrejjef debuts on Saturday 28 October at the Manoel Theatre in Valletta.

TOI TOI invites kids to come along on an imaginative journey, specifically designed for 5 to 8 year olds, where they’ll explore the island’s rich folklore and mythological traditions. The performance will be taking place in a lively, colourful setting that is intended to transport kids to the fantastical realm of Maltese legends. It breathes life into a number of enthralling stories that have been passed on via word-of-mouth throughout Maltese history.

Vjaġġ il-Ħrejjef will have a strong interactive component, by which audience members will get to engage with the characters, keeping them immersed in the story. They might even be asked to participate in upbeat dances or sing along to the stories’ catchy tunes. 

This captivating play comes from the mind of writer-director Brian Bonnici and lasts 40 minutes.  It creates a memorable and enthralling introduction to the exciting world of Maltese tales by fusing enchantment of storytelling, captivating performances, and educational components. 

You can catch Vjaġġ il-Ħrejjef  at either 4 pm or 5:30 pm on both Saturday 28 October  and Sunday 29 October. Make sure you reserve your tickets! Do note the play is Maltese-spoken.
