Calling all film enthusiasts far and wide! Here’s your opportunity to step onto the set of Gladiator 2 at Fort Ricasoli in Malta.
The exclusive open-door event is scheduled for 21 January between 8 am and 5 pm. This unique day out has been officially announced by the Malta Film Commission/Screen Malta and offers fans a glimpse into the highly anticipated production. And here’s the best part, entrance is free.
Throughout the event, visitors can explore Fort Ricasoli, the primary filming location for Gladiator 2. The set boasts a remarkable reproduction of the Colosseum and other iconic structures from the Roman Empire.
In addition to the primary filming site, another set has been under construction in the countryside off Miżieb in recent weeks, adding further intrigue to the epic sequel’s production.
Gladiator 2 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, released 24 years ago, and revisits the gripping tale of Maximus, played by Russell Crowe, a former general compelled to become a gladiator under the rule of the self-appointed Roman emperor Commodus, portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix. The original film was a monumental global success, earning an Oscar for Best Picture and Best Actor for Russell Crowe.
