Malta's Annual Strawberry Festival to Take Place This April
The annual Strawberry Festival, set for 7 April in Mgarr from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, is a highly anticipated event on the Maltese calendar, bringing together farmers, chefs, artists, and musicians for a delightful day out that’s perfect for friends, family, and food enthusiasts.
Throughout April, the village of MÄ¡arr is abuzz with excitement as we celebrate the cultivation and harvest of our locally grown strawberries in the main village square. You’ll find an abundance of stalls offering freshly picked strawberries, along with charming handcrafted products inspired by this beloved fruit. And let’s not forget the mouthwatering menu featuring a variety of strawberry-infused delights, from cakes and pastries to beverages, all made with the finest strawberries around.
The flavour combinations achieved by some of Malta’s talented chefs using local ingredients and strawberries are simply sensational. So come on over and indulge your taste buds! There will be local entertainers providing toe-tapping tunes, and everyone is invited to dance along – whether you’re a traditional dancer or just love to groove!
The Strawberry Festival is a family-friendly affair, with the local school hosting a fun exhibition of children’s drawings. Animators will have plenty of enjoyable activities lined up to keep the little ones entertained. And while you’re here, why not join one of the guided walks? Departing every hour, they offer a leisurely stroll around the village, taking in its sights and countryside views.
During the festival, Heritage Malta is offering special guided visits at reduced admission fees to explore the fascinating Ta’ ĦaÄ¡rat Temples. Getting to MÄ¡arr on the day is easy – just hop on buses 44 or 238 from Valletta, or catch the 101 from Cirkewwa. There’s also a special shuttle service from Ta’ Qali.
Don’t miss out on the Strawberry Festival – it’s a day filled with delicious treats, lively entertainment, and plenty of smiles all around!
