Malta is about to become the backdrop for an enthralling new series, ‘The Wives’, produced by Gaumont in association with Banijay Rights for international distribution. With a star studded cast, led by Jo Joyner, Angela Griffin, and Tamzin Outhwaite, this six-part mystery drama delivers a gripping storyline set against the scenic backdrop of our beloved islands.

Set to air on Channel 5 later in 2024, “The Wives” delves into the intricacies of family dynamics, deceit, and plenty of plot twists. Without giving too much away, four sisters-in-law and their families have made a tradition of escaping to their Maltese holiday apartments every summer for fifteen years. However, this year, as they reunite, everything takes a dramatic turn. Sylvie, Natasha, Beth, and the late Annabelle Morgan find themselves embroiled in a web of secrets, lies, and unexpected twists that will change their lives forever.

Tamzin Outhwaite portrays Sylvie, a newly single woman embracing life’s newfound freedom. Angela Griffin takes on the role of Natasha, whose façade of wealth conceals a desperate financial reality. Jo Joyner brings Beth to life, a woman struggling to hold her life together amidst chaos. And Christine Bottomley portrays Annabelle, whose mysterious death sets the stage for the unravelling of the Morgan family’s deepest secrets.

As suspicions rise and alliances shift, the arrival of Annabelle’s widower, Charlie (played by Jamie Bamber), accompanied by a woman eerily similar to Annabelle, sparks further intrigue.
