Fort Delimara Opens its Gates for a Special Weekend Event this April

Get ready to step back in time as Fort Delimara opens its gates for a special weekend event on 27 and 28 April!

Perched proudly overlooking Marsaxlokk Harbour, this Victorian gem, lovingly preserved by Heritage Malta, promises a journey through history like no other.

If you’re into military strategy, artillery and historical warfare, then Fort Delimara is truly the place for you. Located at Delimara point, the fort was one of a ring of forts and batteries that protected Marsaxlokk harbour, along with Fort Tas-Silġ, Fort San Luċjan and Fort Bengħajsa.

From its imposing structure to the four 38-ton guns still standing tall since the late 1800s, Fort Delimara offers a glimpse into Malta’s rich past. And with guided tours available in both Maltese and English, visitors can delve deeper into its secrets.

But that’s not all – there’s plenty of excitement for everyone. Re-enactment shows, airsoft weapon demos, and a kids’ program packed with adventures await. Plus, don’t miss your chance to explore the newly accessible Counterscarp Galleries, a treat reserved for tour pre-bookers.

Just remember to wear comfy shoes, as the terrain can be uneven, and keep furry friends on a leash. And when hunger strikes, grab a bite onsite while enjoying the stunning views.

So mark your calendars for a weekend of discovery and fun! The fort will be open from 10.00am till 6.00pm on both days.
