In a thrilling announcement earlier today for music fans far and wide, Sam Smith has been confirmed as the headliner for the fifth edition of SummerDaze Malta. The multi-platinum, GRAMMY, and BRIT award-winning artist will perform on 15 August at Ta’ Qali National Park, promising a phenomenal set from their acclaimed Gloria: The Blackout Tour. This marks Smith’s debut performance in Malta, and they have expressed their excitement, stating, “I’m delighted to be taking to the stage in glorious Malta for the first time at SummerDaze and bring my Gloria: The Blackout show to life for everyone!”

UK pop sensation Becky Hill and local favourite Shaun Farrugia will support Sam Smith on this star-studded night. Additionally, BBC Radio 1 Dance Anthems’ Charlie Hedges and friends will be DJing, ensuring that the evening is packed with non-stop entertainment.

Tickets for the main event are attractively priced at €10. They include an item of official SummerDaze merchandise, a reusable plastic cup, and a complimentary bottle of water upon entrance.

The SummerDaze Festival spans from 11-18 August and features a variety of events across Malta. The festivities kick off with a performance by Purple Disco Machine at Café Del Mar, followed by two boat parties around the islands on the 12 and 13 August 2024. On 14 August, Meduza and James Hype will take over UNO Malta for their debut event, ‘Our House’, setting the stage for the main event.

Following Sam Smith’s headlining act on August 15th, the festival continues with hip hop, RnB, and reggaeton vibes from Vida Loca at UNO Malta on 16 August. The first-ever BBC Radio 1 Live Broadcast will take place at UNO Malta on the 17th, and the festival will conclude with performances by Kungs and Danny Howard at Café Del Mar on 18 August.

Presented in partnership with Universal Music Group, BBC Radio 1 Dance Anthems, and Creamfields, SummerDaze Malta has previously welcomed big names such as David Guetta, Jason Derulo, Tyga, and Martin Garrix. This year, the festival also includes performances by Meduza, Sonny Fodera, Solardo, and Zerb, among others.

With such an impressive lineup and a diverse assortment of events, SummerDaze Festival 2024 is set to be an unforgettable highlight on the calendar, making it the must-attend summer event in Malta.
