Thanks to a persistent anticyclone hanging out over the African continent, these high temperatures are here to stay, but don’t worry about a full-blown heatwave just yet. For that, we’d need a few days of temperatures exceeding the monthly average max of 31.7°C by a hefty 5°C—and we’re not quite there.
