The Magic of Malta’s 5th Annual Illuminated Trail at Verdala Palace Gardens Returns

From 4 December to 4 January, the historic Verdala Palace Gardens will be transformed into a winter wonderland filled with larger-than-life lanterns, enchanting installations, and delightful surprises around every corner.

This year, they have added a Christmas village to the attraction.

As you wander along the 1km trail surrounding the grand Verdala Palace, you’ll discover over 14 themed areas filled with entirely new lantern installations and displays. This year’s lineup features imaginative scenes that will transport you to another world:
The Enchanting Wizard and Her Magical Book of Spells – Step into a realm of enchantment as you witness a whimsical wizard casting her spells.
The Mystical Avatar Garden – Feel as though you’ve been transported to a lush, otherworldly garden.
The Dazzling Rainbow Forest – A burst of color and light, this display is as mesmerizing as it is photo-worthy.
Mischievous Minions and Other Friendly Creatures – Delight the kids (and the kid in you) with fun encounters with beloved characters.
From playful characters to awe-inspiring light sculptures, each new installation is designed to spark curiosity. Make sure to have your cameras ready, as this really is a photo op heaven!

Of course, no holiday trail would be complete without some festive cheer. Malta’s Christmas Village will be in full swing, featuring food stalls with seasonal treats, handcrafted ornaments, and even toys for the little ones.
