Known for their signature operatic pop sound, Il Volo—comprised of Gianluca Ginoble, Piero Barone, and Ignazio Boschetto—will unite with Calleja in a rare collaboration. This holiday season special follows last year’s memorable performance featuring Andrea Bocelli and is anticipated to blend the best of classical and contemporary sounds, capturing the essence of the festive season.

The concert will feature the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Mro Aurelio Belli and the BOV Joseph Calleja Children’s Choir, bringing an added layer of richness to the event. Bank of Valletta’s Chief Executive, Kenneth Farrugia, expressed the bank’s pride in supporting the concert, highlighting Il Volo’s participation as a significant addition to this year’s festivities.

Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo also noted, “Hosting such an extraordinary cultural event, especially one featuring Joseph Calleja and Il Volo, reflects Malta’s dedication to nurturing artistic excellence during the festive season.”

Joseph Calleja, a Maltese icon on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, will add yet another jewel to his crown with this collaboration. Il Volo, known for winning the 2015 Sanremo Festival and for their unique fusion of opera and pop, continue to charm global audiences and work alongside leading international artists.
