Malta International Airport Achieves €39.5 Million Profit and Record Passenger Traffic
Malta International Airport (MIA) reported robust financial results for the first nine months of 2024, achieving €107.8 million in revenue and a net profit of €39.5 million. This strong performance was largely fuelled by record-setting passenger traffic and continued investments in infrastructure.
From January to September, MIA welcomed approximately 6.9 million passengers. In October alone, the airport reached a new monthly milestone, handling over 800,000 passengers—a rise of 8.7% compared to the same month in 2023. Italy, the United Kingdom, and Germany were the top markets, with Poland standing out for its impressive 49.8% growth in passenger numbers.
Looking ahead, MIA projects nearly 8.96 million passengers by the end of 2024, alongside anticipated total revenues of €141 million, a projected net profit of €46 million, and planned capital expenditures totaling €64 million. This strong performance underscores Malta International Airport’s optimistic outlook for the remainder of the year.
